Sheamus nails Cody Rhodes and brings his winning streak – Wrestling news
World Wrestling Entertainment’s (WWE) second most viewed show Smackdown televised its 650th episode this week, and the WWE universe witnessed the beating and bashing of the arrogant Intercontinental champion Cody Rhodes by the hands of the Celtic Warrior,
Sheamus.
The Friday night show was televised on February 3, 2012 and as always it put forth a huge, entertaining, energetic, enigmatic, and controversy filled extravaganza.
Among all the important brawls and harsh, heightened discussions between Big Show, Daniel Bryan, Mark Henry, Theodore Long etc existed an epic bout between a young insolent brat Cody Rhodes and the man who loves to fight Sheamus.
The non-title brawl was amongst the most exciting one and made the whole arena enjoy the pins, the attacks and counter attacks. Cody who with his gold round his waist was proudly walking on a winning streak tried his level best to outwit the Celtic Warrior
but Sheamus didn’t let the incompetent Rhodes overcome him.
Despite of pinning the Irish again and again by his agility Cody wasn’t able to inflict maximum damage, the damage required to pin the former heavyweight champion Sheamus. The bout started and instantly converted into a heated one-on-one clash with both
men throwing each other on all the four corners of the squared ring with sheer force and brutality.
Cody initially had the upper hand over Sheamus. The Irish warrior took many effective blows from the kicks of the young acrobatic Rhodes. At one moment Cody went on the top rope and somersaulted dropping his whole body on The Celtic Warrior making his lower
lip bleed. Sheamus strived hard to overcome the ruthless hitting of Cody.
When Cody took Sheamus’s arm under his leg and locked the Irish war fanatic into one of his torturing and tormenting manoeuvre, Sheamus while showing his infamous resilience stood up and struck Cody hard in the ring corner buckle hence breaking the intercontinental
champion’s grip.
After that the brawl didn’t took long to end since on finding an appropriate moment Cody executed his ruthless signature move kick which didn’t connect as expected. Sheamus after dodging the kick replied by his own Brogue kick but Cody’s agility helped him
in ducking and eventually saving himself from Sheamus’s signature move.
Sheamus was ready to apply his Celtic Cross but Cody evaded and at that very moment Sheamus revealed his new signature move the Irish curse. After taking Cody on his back and locking his head in the left and the legs in the right arm, the Irish brawler fell
on the ring floor squashing Cody’s body between his and the ring floor. The referee counted 1, 2, and 3 and Sheamus not only broke Cody’s streak but continued his own, after all he is the Royal Rumble’s battle Royale winner.
