Question:

Shedding Bunny- What to do?

My bunny is shedding in clumps, and they come out easily when pulled, but it seems like she gets new ones all the time. I suppose she's just growing in her winter coat, but brushing her with the slicker brush doesn't seem to help.

Any suggestions to get all that loose fur out?

Thanks.

  1. My rabbit has the same problem, once in the spring and once in the fall. He sheds the same way as my husky, big chunks, mostly in his butt and around his face, all from his under coat. Try looking in the cat grooming isle of your local pet store. I mostly use a small comb, slicker, and pull the big chunks out with my hands (gently of course!). I also bought my rabbit to a groomers this last spring because I could not handle the shedding. He shed's worst then my dog! It took a bit of work to find a groomer with the proper facilities and one willing to work with a rabbit but it was defiantly worth the $15, just don't let them talk you into bathing her, she wont need it.

  2. get a dog brush curry comb am=nd brush

  3. my friend had the same problem with her rabbit and it died in a few short months after seeing the symptoms arise. your best bet would be to take it to a vet and see if him/her can diagnose the problem.
