Sheep people help please!!!?

Question

I want to get a sheep or two to become pets.I dont know what breed I am getting yet,but I would really love to know:

1.)How much feed do sheep need per day?

2.)Do sheep need their hooves trimmed like horses? And if so,

how often do their hoves need trimmed?

3.)Can i use barbed wire for fencing for the sheep?

4.)How long does an average sheep live?

I might come up with more questions later.I dont know much about sheep,i have only been around goats,chickens,horses and cattle all of my life.Any help will be great!

1) we give a pound of grain morning and night.  They cannot have copper so be careful if you dont use a grain made for lambs.  And a flake of alfalfa morning and night.  If they look skinny to you feed them more grain

2)Yes their hooves and dew claws have to be trimmed.  If they are on a hard suface just watch and when they get long trim.  Most liekly every few months.  Dew Claws are trimmed when they can get caught on anything.

3) I would not recomment barbed wire.  Sheep are very stupid and would probably get hurt or caught up in it.

4) depends on who you ask but I had one live to 12 years.

If you want them as nice pets get them as babies (3-4months)and raise them yourself so they are used to peopleand have not just sat in a feed lot.  If you keep only one they are generally more friendly towards poeple.

I have a sheep Idk what kind of breed he is but he was nice at first now he is just plain out mean when u get in the cage with him he backs up 20 feet and comes at u full force if he got u on the ground you'll come up hurting. Just a warning!! By the way my sheep is not the only one that does that!! They all do when they get old enough!!

1. Its better if they eat hay or grass but if u give them only grain twice should be enough if they eat grass or hay once a day will be enough.

2. I had my sheep for 2 years and never clipped his hooves so I think ur good there. Um but in the summer time it would be a good idea to shave him once or twice. Ur gonna need guy help for that job. Just a heads up!!

3. Umm wouldn't reckomend it regular fencing would be best. U might be able to get away with electric fence but thats a big maybe.

4. I have no idea maybe let's guestamate maybe 10 years give or take.
