Sheffield Shield: West Australia take 73-run lead against SA
West Australia (WA) ended Day Two of the four-day Test match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Australia-c844 with an overall lead of 73 runs and with nine wickets to spare. The Sheffield Shield match is being played in Perth.
SA resumed batting in the final session of the day with 207 runs on the board and six wickets down. However, they had Michael Klinger at the crease, on 85. Nathan Lyon was on the other end of the pitch with 13 runs.
The pair batted well and took their team’s total closer to 250. They scored a 65-run partnership for the seventh wicket and rescued their team from disaster. Klinger didn’t miss out on the opportunity he had and scored a brilliant century for his team before

Klinger’s wicket left all the hopes of SA with the debutant Lyon. However, the youngster was dismissed five balls after Klinger’s wicket had fallen. Lyon played well and scored 37 vital runs for his team.
Rob Cassell took his team to 271 with a cameo of 16 runs before SA were bowled-out.

WA gained a crucial 53-run lead over the visitors before coming out to bat for the second innings.

Beer was sent as the night watchman after the fall of Davis’ wicket. He faced 10 balls and didn’t score a run, but the important thing for the hosts was that he remained unbeaten and did the job he was sent to do.
Marcus Harris was also unbeaten at 16 and will be looking forward to play a big innings on the third day of play.
The lone wicket-taker for SA was Peter George. He took a wicket while conceding 12 runs in four overs.
The momentum is with West Australia at the moment and they will be eyeing to gain maximum advantage of it. However, there is a chance for South Australia to bounce back in the match if they get some early wickets in the first session tomorrow.
