Sheilas Wish a prominent entry for the Ratoath Handicap (Division I) at Fairyhouse
The Ratoath Handicap (Division I) will be held at Fairyhouse over a mile and two furlongs on Wednesday, 13th June. Contesting for the €4,830 prize money is a line-up of eighteen three-year and older runners.
The most stable entry for the race today is Sheilas Wish, Hawk Wing’s four-year-old chestnut filly out of mare, Danse Royale. She has raced only twice during the new season. She could not win any of the starts but she was successful in maintaining a certain
bench mark that did not come down the third position.
Her career debut was in the Goresbridge Apprentice Handicap on 17th May at Gowran Park over a mile and one and a half furlong. Legendary Times, the 7/2 joint favourite, won the race while riding with C. P. Hoban. Finishing the closest to the winner
was First Friday while filling up the third slot was Sheilas Wish.
The other joint favourite of the race, Wrekin Rock, ended eighth on the track of seventeen.
Her second try did not find her improving the rankings but the four-year-old did not at least drive down to the fourth position.
Her second career outing was in the Ratoath Handicap (Division I) on 6th June at Fairyhouse over a mile and two furlongs. Morethanafeeling won the race with M. M. Monaghan onboard and led the 11/2 joint favourite runner up of the race, The Fox
Tully.
Finishing at third place once again was Sheilas Wish while the other joint favourite, Saratoga Baby, ended fifth on the track of eighteen.
Today will be her second straight try at Fairyhouse and finishing third there means that she has the potential to perform way better than that.
An entry improving progressively is Fancy Socks, Noverre’s four-year-old bay gelding out of mare, Fairy Lore. Out of the seven starts during the new season, he finally scored a second spot through the most recent outing.
He qualified as the runner up in the Book Online Tramore-Racecourse.Com Handicap on 2nd June at Tramore over a mile and four furlongs.
The race was won by Forest Minx who led Fancy Socks by an amazing eleven lengths.
