Shelbourne Haydn heading for success in the Stadium Bookmakers Maiden Stayers at Oxford
Oxford will stage the Stadium Bookmakers Maiden Stayers over 595 metres on Thursday, 14th June. Invading the track for the £150 prize money are Shelbourne Haydn, Proud Ace, Molly The Second, Metro Mutro, Cians Jessie and Queen Vic.
The most accomplished entry on the line-up is Shelbourne Haydn, Top Savings’ five-year-old white and black daughter out of b***h, Shelbourne Mona. Her start of the season was very disappointing, not only did she finish at a sixth position but she was adrift
by forty-three and a half lengths.
Two more missed races led to a training session which resulted in a win on 16th February at Oxford over 450 metres. She was done racing in 27.23 seconds and led by a length.
She won a Grade A1 450 metres flat race on 3rd March at Oxford by making it to the other end of the wire in 27.00 seconds and leading the runner up, Halls Of Oran, by ¾ of a length.
The 2/1 favourite of the race, Cloyne Oak, parked fourth after racing for 27.24 seconds.
She tossed a couple of wins by claiming a Grade A1 450 metres flat at Oxford on 10th March. Shelbourne Haydn timed the track distance in 27.27 seconds and led the runner up of the race, Prima Facie, by a short head’s difference.
The 7/4 favourite of the race, Dippy Doo, was done in 27.39 seconds.
A second position in the Bags/Sis Easter Bunny Standard Heat 1 on 18th March at Oxford over 450 metres deprived her of a hat trick. The race was won by Another Episode who had settled the distance in 27.11 seconds.
After missing three more races she finally bagged a Grade S1 595 metres flat race at Oxford on 14th April by timing the track distance in 37.21 seconds and took charge of the final half length.
Lively Travel, the runner up, covered the track distance in 37.25 seconds while the 7/4 favourite of the race, Inishowen Bella, ended fourth after taking 37.63 seconds to settle the race.
12th May saw him winning the Grade A1 BGRF Extra Contribution Race at Oxford over 450 metres by finalising the trip in 26.95 seconds and led the runner up, Philanimo Bill, by one and a half length.
