Shelbourne's finals recap
Shelbourne Park opened this weekend with the A2 525 Final worth 500 euros, and held two more open race finals later on the card worth a combined 1500 euros.

The first final had only five entrants as Bockos Bullseye dropped out of the race from the third trap, and was not replaced.
Simple Class, the 5-4 race favourite, opened the day at Shelbourne Park with a win. He took first place over The Other City by four lengths with a time of 28.95 seconds.
Coming in third, two lengths behind The Other City, was Westmead Omar. Katies Doll took fourth place, and Laser Transfer took fifth.

Tolerton Crasher took the lead away from The Other Bolt as they approached the finish line, and won the first Open Final by ¾ lengths with a time of 28.61. Other Bolt got off to a much better start than
Crasher, but wasn’t able to keep stave off a late surge by the race winner.
Park Hill trailed early after a slow start, but a strong finish after moving out wide helped Hill finish in third place, a length behind Other Bolt.
Fourth place went to 5-4 race favourite, Rathglass Hero, who missed his break from the second trap, and wasn’t able to catch-up.
Finishing in fifth was Melodys Hawk, and in last place was Bulldog, both hounds got off to slow starts.

The other Open Final saw four hounds, Quick Lee, Barefoot Bolt, Explosive, and Martinstown Lane come in at 3-1. Their finishes were spread out from first to sixth.
Quick Lee won the race by five lengths over Barefoot Bolt with a time of 28.62. Lee got off to a great start compared to Bolt, who was slow from the traps but did well to finish in second place.
Classical Beauty, a 6-1 longshot, took third place, finishing just ¾ lengths behind Bolt.
The bottom three in this race had trouble on the first and second bends. Explosive ruined his good start with a poor showing on the first bend, and finished 8½ lengths back of Beauty in fourth.
Bound Ahead was another eight lengths back in fifth, and Martinstown Lane fell on the second bend, finishing well back of the field and over two seconds behind Ahead.
