Shelf Decorating Ideas?

I need some cheap ways to decorate my shelf. My best friend lined up jones soda bottles on her shelf and it look really good. I dont want to copy her but i want to do something similar. I have an entire shelf with nothing on it so your ideas would be appreciated!

If you're going for a coordinated look, the idea is to cluster by color or by theme (or both).  Examples are several stoneware pieces, or several white pitchers, or several tea cups or plates of differing colors (but coordinating).  You can do candles, flowers, anything that you actually like.  My sister has a shelf of several giraffe sculptures, none are identical but it looks really cool.
