Shelf installation?

so, i found these shelves in my house, on the side that touches the wall, there are three evenly spaced holes, one hole on the left end, one hole in the middle, and one hole on the right end. The holes have a bracket like on a speaker or router, where you drill a s***w into the wall and hang the appliance, and the s***w head can go into the large part of the hole, but the hole gets smaller, so when its hanging, its secure. QUESTION what kind of screws/fasteners do i need to anchor this shelf securely to drywall? i want to be able to put books on it

Use a s***w with  pan head or button head or round head. the head should easily go through the round hole of the "key hole" and the shaft through the smaller part of the key hole.

or you can use picture hangers like the Hercules hook that are the easiest and quickest to install, look at:

or Moly bolts that are one of the strongest of the attachment methods for drywall.

But books however are pretty heavy and therefor you have to put the screws in the wooden lumber or metal tracks called studs that are behind the drywall.  

The studs you can detect by tapping on the wall or better by using a stud finder.

Or you can put a piece of wood against the wall as a backing whereby you put the screws  into the studs and hang the shelves on that piece of wood. now the weight is contributed over more studs and held in place by more screws.

But all depends about the dimensions of the shelves and the weight you will put on the shelves.

You will need to visit your DIY store and get the proper fasteners.

Several types are available: Togglers, which are hollow wall anchors. Toggle bolts,or just plain screwe into the studs since your going to put weight such as books on these shelves.
