Shemberev Maxim wins Men’s 1500m freestyle gold: Day two – 2012 Ukraine Summer Cup
Shemberev Maxim of Cues won gold medal of the Men’s 1500m freestyle on second day of the 2012 Ukraine Summer Cup in Kharkiv on Tuesday, May 8.
Maxim displayed his ruthless aggression in the distant freestyle event and upset his challengers by reaching the finishing end for gold medal.
With his impeccable efforts in the thirty-lap freestyle discipline, Maxim cruised his way towards the finishing end for gold medal by submitting a time of 15 minutes and 40.65 seconds.
His title-claiming effort remained almost thirteen seconds ahead of Goncharov Anton of DPR, who clinched silver medal of the event by reporting a time of 15 minutes and 53.28 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Romanchuk Michael of RVN, who stayed marginally slower from his and proved his mettle for third best position by producing a time of 15 minutes and 53.84 seconds.
Fourth position of the event was obtained by Drumov Dmitry of DPR, who stayed considerably slower from the third best finisher and tapped the wall for fourth position with the timing of 16 minutes and 07.14 seconds.
Dmitry was trailed by Omelchuk Julian of DON, who stayed nearly two body lengths behind and ended his swim in fifth place by clocking a time of 16 minutes and 10.05 seconds.
Following that, the audience witnessed alluring efforts of Butskaya Games of DON, who stayed just 0.25 seconds apart and hit the wall with the timing of 16 minutes and 10.30 seconds for sixth position.
Games remained almost four seconds ahead of Vadim Maksimenko of ANW, who secured seventh best spot of the event by posting a time of 16 minutes and 14.76 seconds for seventh position.
Subsequently, Maksimenko was traced by Kravchenko Art of DPR, who failed to surpass any of his challengers and emerged on the finishing blockade with the timing of 16 minutes and 18.92 seconds.
The championship came to an end after the completion of all planned events in Men and Women’s category whereas the position holders were invited on the victory stand for medals and accolades at the medal ceremony of the championship.
