  1. hey... fry your ground beef with onion and garlic and strain once cooked, cook your corn... and cook your potatoes, strain and mash the potatoes.in the bottom on a baking dish/ casserole pan put the ground beef mix. then on top of that place your corn. net put on your mashed potatoes and shredded cheese (optional)...bake at 325*F until mashed potatoes are a light golden brown, and cheese is melted. (about 10 minutes)

  2. Shepherds pie is made with Lamb mince, cottage pie is beef, basically they are both made the same way, but if you do use lamb mince it is best to dry fry it, then add half a pint of cold water, bring to the boil then drain the lamb through a sieve, preferably the day before, as you then keep the liquid in a jug in the fridge to set the fat, which you can then just lift off, then you add the water back to the lamb mince and continue. I use a couple of lamb stock cubes, knorr ones, a teaspoon of mint sauce, some gravy browning and cornflour to thicken. Cook in a frying pan for half an hour then put in a casserole dish, top with plenty of mash potato, then  cook in a hot oven for half an hour, until the potato is brown. x

  3. Shepherd’s Pie.

    1 minced onion

    1/4 tsp. hot pepper sauce

    1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

    3 c. minced cooked lamb

    1 1/2 tsp. salt

    1/4 c. hot milk

    6 med. peeled boiled potatoes

    1 slightly beaten egg

    4 tbsp. butter

    1 1/2 c. gravy

    1/4 tsp. pepper

Sauté onion in 1 tablespoon butter until soft, but not brown. Remove from heat; mix in meat, gravy, pepper and Worcestershire sauce, and 3/4 teaspoon salt. Beat until fluffy potatoes, remaining salt, and butter, pepper, and hot milk. Put meat mixture in 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Top with fluffy potatoes, score with fork to make a pattern. Brush with egg. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes.

If made with beef mince it would be a Cottage Pie.
