  1. Sherwood still makes lots of wood hockey sticks (the best in the bizz). The one you are looking at is a composite.

For a D, the Sherwood PMP 5030 is a great wooden stick still used by a lot of pro's.

  2. It's a mid-level composite, like a Synergy 350 or CCM OPS 100.

It might look nice, but if it doesn't help your game, who cares? I don't. I'd rather have my hideous looking Koho from high school with which I once scored 7 goals on 11 shots than a sleek-looking stick that doesn't help my game.

If you want a good wood stick to help your shot on d Jack i'd go with the 7000 if you weigh under 180 pounds or the 9950 if you weigh more than that. Since so many people are buying into the hype of composites, you should be able to find them in the 25 - 35 dollar range. Oh and since you're a D-man I would look into the Ray Bourque model. Has enough curve for a good shot but it's not extreme. Because as a goalie I feel the need to remind you that a defenceman's first priority should be to help us out in the defencive zone.

hmm Coach .. the 5030 is as fragile as Barbie, they break when you put even a hand on them. For a couple bucks more I suggested the 7000 and 9950 because at least those are fibreglass and/or graphite reinforced. NHL players don't have to worry because they get their sticks for free. The average beer leager is on a budget.

  3. *HINT* Try reading it..

  4. No, its fiberglass and carbon fiber.

Its a one-piece composite, much like a Synergy or a Vector.

  5. I don't think so. They are describing all the carbon in it and it looks awesome but most companies aren't making wood sticks anymore.
