Sheren Regina Natsir casts out Aneke Putri Ikhsan in 2012 Djarum Sirnas Flypower Bali Open
Women’s Singles shuttler Sheren Regina Natsir showed unbeatable craft on the court and intercepted Aneke Putri Ikhsan en route to the quarter-finals of Djarum Sirnas Flypower Bali Open on November 6, 2012.
Though, this pre quarter-final match concluded in just 30 minutes but still the victorious shuttler had to put an extra effort to read a favourable result of 21-17 and 21-14.
Now Regina Natsir has a real challenge ahead as she is scheduled to meet Intan Dwi Jayanti in the round of eight.
However, she is in high spirits to stretch her successful run by employing the valuable experience of preliminary stage.
The sixth seeded player has registered her presence in the home event by sealing a straight-set win in the pre quarter-finals.
Regina Natsir played with great precision and ruled the court in both games. She was bit sluggish in the beginning but then kick-started her campaign by claiming the opening match point.
In first set of the match, she took some time to read her opponent’s game and this cautious approach kept her at the lower end in the establishing rallies.
The opposing shuttler Aneke Putri capitalised her early advantage and dominated the overall pace of the rallies until half time.
However, she could not go with the same flow in later part of the game and allowed her competitor to bounce back into the contest.
Regina Natsir struck hard while hanging by a thread to stay alive and tipped the scale in her favour with 21-17 score on the board.
It was an easy ride to victory for her in the second set as the opposing shuttler hardly handed out any resistance and surrendered in a disgraceful manner.
She made her intentions clear by grabbing couple of consecutive points immediately in the beginning and then doubled the impact by piling up a mountainous total of 11 before the interval.
After the one-minute break, she launched an intensive attack and raised her lead to an indomitable position. Her challenger could not come out of this deficit all the way to game point situation.
Regina maintained a notable difference of seven points and sealed her straight-set victory with a staggering knock of 21-14.
