Former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andriy-Shevchenko-c6014 unravelled that he is contemplating taking retirement from all formats of the game, having already dropped curtains on his international career a week earlier. He also admitted that he plans on working as
a manager in future.
The Ukrainian football celebrity, widely considered as one of the most revered and decorated player in the country’s history, led his side to a win against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sweden-c3015 in the ongoing European Championships, but saw them crash out of the competition after suffering
back to back defeats to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 in the group stages.
Following the co-hosts early exit from the event and with the player having reached the twilight of his career, Shevchenko announced his retirement from international football almost a week ago.
Nevertheless the 35-year old, who currently plays for Dynamo Kyiv, divulged that whether or not he will continue with his club career is a decision he will take in a couple of days. This is because he hinted that he may pull out from club football as well
and pursue a coaching career.
While talking to reporters, he said: “I will spend some time talking with my family to decide what I want to do. I have offers from clubs abroad and from Dynamo Kiev. I will maybe have a couple more years of playing football or maybe stop and become a coach.”
As the glamorous European competition nears conclusion, the former AC Milan player waxed lyrical about his country’s excellent hosting of the event, and felt that all the accusations of racism hurled at them during the build up to the tournament had been
completely nullified.
Shevchenko specifically took the English media to task for hoaxing a false idea about the Ukrainian people, and believed that after witnessing the actual situation in the country, the English people will have no problems coming to Ukraine in future.
He added, “It is normal when you don't know a country that there can be a lot of bad press, but now I hope everything will change and English people will come and visit the Ukraine.”
“I am very proud of my country and that they hosted the European Championship.”
