Shift R improves image quality?

just got a new laptop (windows vista) and a usb dongle thing from tmobile for mobile internet.

every picture that comes up in the internet browser is all fuzzy and says press shift r to improve. now i know its not the pictures that are the problem as on my old laptop they are fine. its only on this new 1!

whats going on? is there a way i can fix this with out having to press shift r on every single image??

  1. It's compressing the image so it downloads faster and doesn't use as much bandwidth.

    If you're using IE:

    Tools \ Options \ Advanced.

    Scroll down, and check "Show pictures". Uncheck "Smart image dithering".


  2. shift + R forces the browser to reload the image and web page directly from the internet, instead of from the computer's cache
