Shift k**b that isnt an H shifter?

Ive seen some videos of people with a shifter that pulls back to gear up and pushes forward to gear down, but its not a tiptronic system. does anyone know what these are called?

  1. Stephen C has it right, it's sequential gearing.

    A lot of cars which are sold as 'Semi-Automatic' use this system for the clutchless manual mode, e.g. My wife's Toyota Yaris


  2. If it is not one of the Triptronic setups, it can either be the sequential manual gearbox, as mentioned before, or a clutchless manual (also not the triptronic), as the later Toyota MR2's were equipped with.

  3. that is i believe called a sequential gear shift. a good example is the ascari a10 look for the review of it by top gear on youtube
