Shifting Star to glimmer in the Starr Companies Handicap at Lingfield
Lingfield will host the Class 2 Starr Companies Handicap over seven furlongs on Tuesday, 12th June. Ready for the challenge today is a line-up of nine four-year and older runners who will contest for the £10,221 prize money. Shifting Star leads
the contestants because of the experience at Lingfield and that too during the new season.
Night Shift’s seven-year-old chestnut gelding out of mare, Ahshado, has raced six times during the new season and half of those races were at Lingfield. He started off the season with a second score in the 32Redpoker.Com Handicap on 12th January
at Kempton over a mile.
The race was won by the 11/4 favourite, Sunset Kitty, who led Shifting Star by a minor short head’s difference.
Ending third in line behind the winner was Perfect Mission.
Not waiting for too long to go all out with his actual potential, Shifting Star won the Exclusive Live Shows At Bluesq.Com Handicap at Lingfield over seven furlongs on 25th January.
Winning the race was not a piece of cake as the runner up, Chilli Green, was closing in at a mere neck’s difference. Coming at terms with the third position was Arctic Lynx while the 9/4 favourite of the race, Podgies Boy, ended fourth.
His next two outings at Lingfield were not exactly encouraging as he finished sixth and then seventh.
The Bet At Blue Square Handicap was won by Amitola on 4th February over a mile. Shifting Star managed ending sixth right after the 9/2 joint favourite of the race, Tarooq.
The seven-year-old ranked seventh in the Mike Lilley 60th Birthday Handicap on 3rd March over a mile. The race was won by Forceful Appeal while the 2/1 favourite, Numeral, ended fifth on the track of eleven.
His most recent race and victory was in the Willis Lease Finance Corporation Handicap on 25th May at Goodwood over seven furlongs. He led by a slight neck’s difference and was soon joined by Piscean. Finishing third was Corporal Maddox and filling
up the fourth position was the 5/1 favourite of the race, Konstantin.
His chances of bagging the race today are quite concrete.
