Shifts in standings as William Douglass - Chris Larson replace John Kilroy - Vasco Vascotto
Day 4 of Melges 32 Worlds, hosted by the Real Club Nautico de Palma, at Palma de Mallorca saw shifts in the podium standings, as William Douglass and Chris Larson on Goombay Smash managed to produce a superb sail to hit the top spot. They replaced previous
leaders, John Kilroy and Vasco Vascotto, nudging them down at second place.
Kilroy and Vascotto on Samba Pa Ti could not perform well on the fourth day of the event and after a low result in both races, they secured the 28th and a 10th position. They could not maintain their top place and tumbled down to second
spot after Douglass and Larson finish 10th and second respectively, to make it on first place with 41 points.
Samba Pa Ti is currently on second place with 42 points and they need just one good performance to clinch back at the top place. However, Goombay Smash has bounced back brilliantly after Day 2 to reach the first spot on the podium. Lanfranco Cirillo and
Michele Paoletti on Fantastica are still on third place with 42 points after eight races.
