Shih Kuei Chun finds a positive start at Vietnam International Challenge 2012 – Badminton news
Chinese Taipei’s Shih Kuei Chun found a positive start at Ciputra Hanoi Vietnam International Challenge 2012 as he defeated Malaysia’s Kok Pong Loke in Men’s Singles first round on Wednesday, March 28.
Shih Kuei proved that he has much power in his belly to prove his worth at international stage as he played remarkable badminton against the Malaysian and emerged as the winner of the fight in three games.
On the other hand, Kok Pong played with wonderful aggression in the first set and took it with a convincing margin. However, he failed to continue his positive play and lost the following both games.
In the opening rallies of first set, both shuttlers entertained the crowd with their impressive craft as they played fast and positive badminton and remained close until the end of opening half.
The Malaysian shuttler was in somewhat strong position as he managed a small lead until the one-minute break.
After the interval, Kok Pong played dominating badminton and stretched his lead. On the other hand, Shih Kuei failed to play positive game and lost the first set with a 15-21 score on the board.
In the second set, Shih Kuei became quicker in the opening rallies and got a dominating position from the start. He was in complete control and did not let his opponent to dictate the pace.
Until the end of opening half in second game, Shih Kuei was moving ahead of his Malaysian challenger on the score board.
After the break, Taipei shuttler continued his impressive run without dropping his speed at any stage and remained successful in winning the set with a five-point margin of 21-16.
In the deciding set, Shih Kuei was everywhere in the court and he did not spare room for his opponent to earn points. He was far ahead on the score board until the one-minute interval.
After the break, Taipei shuttler continued snapping his rival’s heel by playing positive badminton and ended the third set with a wonderful margin of 21-13.
Shih Kuei won his first encounter against the Malaysian opponent in three games with a 15-21, 21-16 and 21-13 score on the board.
