Shih Kuei was at his best while playing against the experienced Ponsana and emerged as the winner of the fight by ending it up in straight games by taking 43 minutes in the court.
In contrast, Ponsana could not live up to the expectations of his home fans as he failed to produce his usual class in the court and remained unable to dominate the pace of rallies.
The Thai hero lost to his Taipei rival in straight sets in front of his home fans at the indoor arena in Bangkok.

After the break, Ponsana tried his best to take a reasonable lead but failed to control the pace as his opponent was quick in taking the bird early.
Shih Kuei was focused and fast in the court as he did not spare any chance for his rival to take control of rallies at the concluding phase and took the opening game with a 21-18 margin on the board.
