  1. give her benydryl if that doesnt work take her to the groomer and see what they say its cheaper than taking her directly to the vet, they'll tell u if she needs to see the vet :) good luck

  2. shih tzu are allergic to dust mites and about everything else in the environment

bathe her or take her to a groomer for a proper bath and hair cut

    bathe her using hypoallergenic shampoo

after you do this call her vet and get her in asap before she scratches herself raw which will mean a ton of money on antibiotics, steroids, antihistimes, prescription shampoos etc

  3. It sounds like she may have dry skin or allergies. Try adding a tablespoon of oil to her food. Also, when you bathe her, try using a sensitive skin formula. I use an oatmeal based one that works great. All these work great for the long term but you may want to call your vet and ask if he/she can recommend any over the counter products to help your puppy immediately. Also, if it is allergies, benadryl may help your puppy, but you would definitely want to talk to your vet first to find out the dosage. For our 55 lb dog she gets 1/2 a pill wrapped in some cheese each morning. It takes care of her allergies and she thinks she is getting a treat. But again, please call your vet first to discuss.

  4. Try getting some itching spray. I use Corti-Care Hydrocortisone spray. It worked for my dog when he was itching a bunch. You should be able to find it at a local pet store. I hope this helped. :]

here is the spray if u want to have a look at in=

  5. To be honest it probably is fleas. Get yourself a good flea comb and comb  the whole body thoroughly at least three times. If you still don't find a single flea then it's best to go to a vet as she may have a dermatological problem.

  6. its probably just fleas

  7. aska vet

you need to help that itchy pooch!

  8. There are a number of things that it could be. Ask yourself if you've made any changes lately. ie: her shampoo, food, bedding. If you are sure there are no fleas then it is probably an allergy of some sort, one you are unaware she has. She could even be having a reaction to something you've starting using around the house like a cleaning product or detergent. If you do think of something different, remove it and give her few days to see if it clears up. Another thing you want to look at is the condition of her skin. Is it dry, flaky, irritated? She could have some sort of skin condition in which she may require a prescription shampoo. If at any time, her itching starts producing open sores get her to the vet asap. But you should try to get her there as soon as you can anyways, I'm sure she is miserable itching like that.

  9. We had one and he had hot spots. The vet gave us pills for it and they really worked. His was caused by the grass in the summer.

  10. dry skin. try bathing her in baby shampoo
