Shetty said that the BCCI should have acted fairly before showing her franchise the door. She also added that while the board may have its reasons, she would like the board to give the franchise a chance before hurling them out. She said, “As owners of Rajasthan
Royals, we do not wish to hurl stones but we know that we have done nothing wrong. Even if there is some wrong doings from our side, it should have been treated with a little more fairness, keeping in view our passion for the team as franchises.”
Giving an analogy with the business world, Shetty said, “If you have done any mistake in any business, you have to face the consequences with compensation. Just terminating does not solve the problem. Being the owners of Rajasthan Royals, we are ready to face
the consequences if we are in wrongs. But we just cannot be called off like this.”
Shetty also revealed that her husband Raj Kundra – another co-owner of the IPL franchise – was also unhappy with the whole affair.
