Shilpa Shetty seeks fair probe into the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837 Royals’ termination
Bollywood actress and the co-owner of Rajasthan Royals, Shilpa Shetty seeks a “fair and balanced” probe into the charges of irregular ownership pattern of the franchise.
The actress-turned-businesswoman is distressed by the Board of Control of Cricket in India’s decision to terminate the IPL team on the grounds of irregularities into its ownership pattern. In a message posted on a micro-blogging internet
site, Twitter, Shilpa wrote: "It's been a very distressing time for us all at RR after all we've put in (passion n time).”
The IPL contract of Rajasthan Royals, the champions of the inaugural edition of IPL, was terminated by the governing council of IPL last Sunday alleging the franchise of violating rules. The franchise has been expelled from the lucrative
T20 tournament with seven years of its 10-year agreement still to go.
The Board of Control of Cricket in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 claimed that Shilpa Shetty’s team had violated the franchise agreement besides irregularities in its possession pattern. Shilpa, negating the charges levelled by the BCCI against franchise, said that
the board was completely aware of inclusion of her London-based husband Raj Kundra in the franchise.
"The only change to ownership was the introduction of my husband Raj Kundra, for which we had full BCCI permission and support at the time," she added.
The governing council had also terminated the contract of Preity Zinta’s Kings XI http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 for violating the franchise pact and the next in-line could be the Kochi – which has asked for some time from the board to sort out the ownership concerns.
The glamorous Bollywood actress seeks for a fair hearing into the issue.
"All we ask is for a fair and balanced hearing on issues raised, given the adverse national and international impact on 'Brand IPL' in the interests of fans and teams," said Shilpa. "Most importantly a transparent process and enquiry..allegation
is that our ownership has changed since 2008. That's Untrue.”
Shilpa supported her quite late reaction to the termination saying she was "too shocked to react.” Shilpa further tweeted that she wants to know on what grounds the contract of Rajasthan Royals has been terminated but she said that she still has not received
the termination orders officially and will react properly once she receives the termination.
