Shimano Siren wins The Coral Hove Maiden b*****s event
Shimano Siren marvellously achieved her maiden victory by winning The Coral Hove Maiden b*****s Open Race of 515m category on January 2 at Hove greyhound racing track.
After breaking from trap 1, the black b***h consumed 29.96 seconds to reach the finish line. Trained by W T Adams, she was sent as the 1 to 1 hot favourite hound for the high-stakes event.
The daughter of Droopys Marco, out of Schofield Damsel ran just for the third time last night since her debut, which was on January 6.
Shimano Siren had to apply enormous force to wrest the victory from, Centurion Dolly, who struggled from beginning to the end, but in the end lagged by just ¾ of a length.
Shimano Siren came up to the expectations of the bookmakers by notching up the magnificent triumph. She also managed to establish herself as a favourite runner for the upcoming races of this month.
Adams was also greatly pleased with the first success of his b***h. During the post-race presentations ceremony, he expressed immense joy and showered enough praise on his trainee.
The novice b***h ran aggressively, and bridged the distance by running clear of her opponents. At one point during the race, it seemed that Centurion Dolly would finish first, but Shimano Siren marvellously turned the advantage and won.
Centurion Dolly, after breaking from trap 4, crossed the boundary strap in 30.02 seconds. With 5 to 1 starting price, the b***h ran very well throughout the track, making the bookies realise that she had potential to make upsets despite being a non-favourite.
Whelped in May, 2010, the daughter of Droopys Kewell, out of Hooch Babe gets training from P W Young. She has not won even a single race so far.
The third top spot in the race was accomplished by Sharies Miller, who broke from trap 5, and complete the distance in 30.36 seconds, trailing by 4 ¼ lengths. She is trained by M J Dartnall.
Among other three hounds, Lemon Olive grabbed fourth spot, while Tomten Tiffany and Fabulous Reason finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
