Shin muscle soreness brings an early end to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 – Cricket News Update
West Indies cricket team, on Wednesday, suffered yet another setback when their strike pacer, Kemar Roach, was ruled out of the remaining tour of England due to shin muscle soreness.
The right-arm speedster left England and flew back home, Barbados, on an immediate basis to get the injury treated.
The http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 Cricket Board confirmed the news in a statement that read, “Roach has been sidelined with shin muscle soreness and will return home to Barbados to allow this to heal before starting a bowling programme again.”
The departure of Roach will be a big loss for the Caribbean contingent, who have already lost the Test series to the hosts 2-0 and will be playing for pride in the third and final Test at Edgbaston, Birmingham, starting from June
7, 2012.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Christopher-James-Clark-c50825, West Indies Team physiotherapist, revealed that the bowler complained about pain during first two Tests. The physiotherapist further said that WICB decided to send the player back home, in order to keep the injury from
getting worse.
He said, "Kemar has been carrying this soreness for the last two matches, and in view of our upcoming schedule, we would like him to have the time to recover and prevent the onset of more serious injury."
"It is always important to balance workload with the body's ability to repair, and I think it judicious to protect Kemar at this time."
West Indies coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ottis-Delroy-Gibson-c80358, lamented the loss of their ace bowler. However, the coach said that it was in the best interest of Roach that he takes some time off from the game and gets the injury operated upon.
Roach was the pick of the bowlers for the West Indies. The pacer, in the two games that he played, bagged eight wickets at an average of 34.25. WICB has named http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sunil-Philip-Narine-c91869, the off-spin bowler, as the replacement for the injured
bowler.
Narine has received a call-up on account of some solid performance in the recently concluded Indian Premier League. The youngster, who represented Kolkata Knight Riders, was declared Player of the Tournament after notching 24 wickets
in the event.
