  1. When the shingles are cool, early AM, gently pry the tab up and remove the nail that is backing out. Carefully put a new nail in close to the 1 you remove. They are nailed every 12 inches and can't all hit a rafter.

    This is very common, the nail absorbs heat and it transfers into the decking and dries it out and makes is expand and then the nail gets loose.
