The Borussia Dortmund midfielder has rubbished transfer talk to Manchester United or AC Milan in the summer and admits he is pleased to stay.
Having impressed during his side’s 5-1 win over Hamburg SV in the Bundesliga game on Sunday, January 22, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shinji-Kagawa-c33364 has committed his future to Borussia Dortmund. The Japanese international will run out of contract at the Westfalenstadion
in 2013, but the Borussians are certain to offer him a renewed deal following his consistent run since his arrival in 2010.
It has been reported that Manchester United and AC Milan are interested in acquiring the midfielder at the end of the season. Both the clubs have been continuously monitoring the attacker’s progress, and are considering striking
a bid in the summer transfer window.
Kagawa, however, wishes to focus on his current role at the club without concentrating on such transfer rumours. While talking to the sports channel, Sport1, the former Cerezo Osaka star further elaborated:
"Right now, it's just about me being successful here with Dortmund. There are rumours again and again, but I have no information about that. The talk leaves me cold."
Kagawa insisted that he could never think of leaving Dortmund, the club which has earned him respect and fame. He added that he never thought of playing in Europe at such a big stage, but his current side deserves the credit for
where he stands now and he owes much to the club. He expressed delight on winning the Bundesliga during his first season, and vows to help his team retain their crown.
"For a player like me, who has been promoted here in his first year in Europe, it's a great honour. I must admit, it was beyond my wildest dreams. In my time here, I've seen that Borussia Dortmund has developed steadily. We have
become German champions and played in the Champions League. In the Bundesliga, we are up at the top and want to do so in the future," Kagawa concluded.
Dortmund are currently second in the league standings with 37 points, level with the current leaders, Bayern Munich, who enjoy a superior goal difference than the Borussians.
