The Borussia Dortmund midfielder has rejected a renewed deal with the Black Yellows after increasing interest from Manchester United.
Borussia Dortmund sporting director, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shinji-Kagawa-c33364 has not yet signed a new deal with the club. He was talking after his side registered a 5-2 win over FC Kaiserslautern on Saturday, April 28, at
the Fritz-Walter-Stadion courtesy of a hat-trick from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivan-c17215 Perisic.
Kagawa started the game from the bench and came on in the 66th minute to replace http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-Lewandowski-c31255. The Japanese has been instrumental in his team’s success in the past two years but has recently attracted interest
from host of Premier League clubs.
The Dortmund officials are eager to retain Kagawa beyond this season but the attacker has denied signing an extension. If reports are to be believed, Kagawa is himself interested in signing for the Premier League giants which has
also been confirmed by the sporting director.
Zorc admitted that the Red Devils would soon come up with an official bid for the former Cerezo Osaka player but his departure will be a huge loss for the club. He mused that Kagawa is an asset to any club and the Borussians will
not let him leave easily. Zorc meant that the club will offer heavy wages to the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Japan-c2928 international in order to retain him at the Signal Iduna Park.
While talking to Sky90, the sporting director further added: “I last week held talks with Shinji and his advisers. To date, he is not willing to extend his contract with Borussia Dortmund. He has a specific career plan and that
involves playing in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. It must be accepted, but it is not good [for the club]."
On the other hand, Zorc was confident that Lewandowski will honour his contract at the club despite an interest from Europe’s top clubs. The striker has been the highest goal scorer for his club this season and it is his effort
mostly that has led Dortmund to their successive triumph of the Bundesliga crown.
"I assume that Lewandowski will still be playing for us for the next two years," Zorc concluded.
Dortmund are currently atop the league standings with 78 points and have one last league fixture remaining against Freiburg on Saturday, May 5.
