  1. Um....kinda vague question....check wikipedia under naval architecture

    There are a lot of "rules" when it comes to ship design. I'm studying aerospace engineering, but a lot of the rules carry over (from ship to airplane, believe it or not).

    Things like length-to-beam ratios, reducing skin friction, etc.


  2. they are all designed to displace more water than what they weigh. then they are designed to use a force to propell them through tha water.

    and then they are designed to offer the least resistance to itself passing through the water.

    shiver me timbers , catch my drift?

    As ma bras say, lay and lean when tha wind is mean and know tis more a boat than a box your in.
