Question:

Shipping a package from Italy to US?

Is there a website for the Italian postal service that allows me to track packages when I enter the delivery confirmation number?

Also, is there an inexpensive way to ship packages from Italy to USA other than the postal service? I checked out FedEx, UPS and DHL and they all want about $175.00 to send a shoebox-sized package to the US.

  1. Do you know anybody who is in the Military who is stationed in Italy?  IF so have them ship your package through the base, it's cheap!

  2. I don't know of a website you're asking for, but you might want to ask at www.italiantourism.com.  It's loaded with information and you can always contact them directly if you can't find it on the site.

Personally, I've shipped packages from Italy to the US many times using the Italian post & nothing's ever been lost.  Sometimes it takes a long time to arrive, but it always does!

  3. A 2kg box from Italy to US costs around 19 Euros to ship via the National postal service (you will get a confirmation number - ask for "pacco raccomandato"). Other companies are more expensive so you'd better use the Poste Italiane (http://www.poste.it/en/). A box of 2kg sent from Italy usually reaches me in 8-9 days.
