  1. A Kiwi I knew moved from Wellington to Melbourne for around NZ$5,000, he had a half-container load. He used Crown Relocations.

  2. i had a friend move from auckland to the GC they had half of a container and paid around $7 grand. Its fairly expensive for a relatively short move. Its fairly easy to get decent furniture over here so it might pay to look into starting over

  3. I moved from Nelson to the Sunshine Coast a few years back, cost around $2,600 for a 20ft container  (so probably put another grand on that now)

It will go into Brisbane (Port) then you will have to move it yourself from there or hire a removal company to take it to the Gold Coast.

Do everything yourself if you can, furniture removal companies in Nelson cost twice as much.  I got around 6 quotes, and they were all $5,500 upwards, (and that didn't even include the quarantine fees Aussie end) I paid half that.

They dropped the container off to your house (think I got mine from TNL)  you have the morning to pack it, they pick it up etc...  was very easy.

A 20ft container was sufficient enough size for my household goods, personal items and appliances such as washing machine, fridge etc.  - I had basically a 3 bedroom homes worth I fit in comfortably.
