Shipping from Shanghai, China to Texas, USA

I ordered a package from a seller who lives in Shanghai, China. I already sent the payment, and she is going to send the package tomorrow (Aug. 4th). She is sending the package via EMS. I really need this package before Aug 25th, and I need to know if my package will get here on time. However, the seller sent me an email saying my package will not arrive before the 25th because of the Olympics. I want to know if it's true, and if it is, how does the Olympics effect the shipping time? Is there any other way I can receive my package on time?

Yes, there are all sorts of restrictions on anything leaving the PRC via carriers - I have had problems with both UPS and DHL.

If she is sending it via EMS (by air), the package would definitely arrive before 25th Aug. Look, from Texas, it will usually sent to bigger airport that handle international shipment, to LA in this case, then from there, direct to Shanghai.

You would be looking at approx 5-7 working days (max) for this delivery. Olympic has nothing to do with it
