Shipping motorcycle to australia from uk?

Looking for advice from anyone who's done it. Bikes under 12 months in my possession and i'm going into permanent employment. Any ideas or should I just sell up and avoid the hassle?

Thanks for that question (and Billybear for the answer). I found it an interesting one, because we were also wondering about it.

We have a motorbike, and were considering shipping it to Australia (we are planning to migrate, but are still doing the paperwork) so that will be one less thing we have to purchase. However, the question of documentations (registration, etc.) did cross our minds, so we were having second thoughts about it...

Why on earth would you want to ship a motorcycle all the way to Australia from the UK?

For one thing it might fail the Australian regs and then what would you do, ship it back again?

We do have them over here you know.
