Question:

Shipping personal items in a car from Puerto Rico to Florida?

I am shipping my car from Puerto Rico to Florida on Monday. The instructions say that anything other than the emergency equipment will be charged at $285.00. Does that mean I can fill it with my stuff as long as it is within the guidelines of the USDA and they will just charge me $285.00 or will they deny shipping my car?

  1. 5 years ago I shipped 2 cars from PR to FL and they only permitted emergency equipment. They inspect the inside of the car before shipping it.

try any of these companies.. maybe give them a call and find out. Good luck.

I also did it from FL to Nassau Bahamas and it was the same thing..only emergency equipment.

  2. You Car will be inspected at the seaport also and Hacienda will charge you taxes  for whatever they consider electronics and Household electronics...it used to be 20.00 per item.

so if the shipping company permits it...Hacienda will get you..

  3. There are all kinds of rules and regulations when it comes to shipping motor vehicles.

Your best bet is to box everything up and have DHL haul it to Florida for you... it will be cheaper, quicker and better.
