There is a number of possibilities available with Canada Post.

The Xpresspost seems the most expensive one at $46.85 for a package of up to 0.5kg, Small Packet would cost you $5.75-$7.80 for Surface Mail, and $7.90-$15.20 for Air Mail. I have listed the ranges because although you mentioned the package would weight 0.25kg, it could be a bit more and the higher price applies for packages weighting anywhere between 0.251kg and 0.5kg.
