i bought an item on the 12th, and it was shipped via UPS. this is the tracking info:

Type: Package

Status: In Transit

Shipped To: RICHMOND HILL, ON, CA

Shipped/Billed On: 06/12/2008

Service: STANDARD

Weight: 15.00 Lbs

what does this "In Transit" mean, and why is there no estimated arrival date anymore. this morning i got mail, just letters. will it come today?

  1. I have the same problem. I have an item that was shipped a few days ago and all it says is "In Transit" but no arrival date.  I would call UPS customer service.  they might be able to track the package in their system which has more info than the online tracking system for customers

In Transti just means that is was picked up from the person shipping it and is on its way to you but it doesnt say anything about where it is at all.  call and you might be able to track down an actual location.

  2. it means its on its way to its destination (so its

    ":in transit)

note it will be delivered by a UPS delivery person not the postman

it probably wont come today (then the tracking will

either day on delivery vehicle or out for delivery)

also is your package coming from the US?

and going to Canada? then it will also have to go though

Canadian customs and UPS doesnt know how long that will take

so thats probably why there no estimate of delivery date

  3. in transit means it's on its way :) if it was to say out for delivery it would mean that it would be delivered that day. when you track it, you should see an estimated arrival date.
