Shipping via APO to Germany and when do they return to sender

Hello there, does any of you know when the US Post will return packages to sender?

My friend had send two packages to a friend of us with an APO address, cause she in the US and he stationed in Germany (US Military). But since he on vacation right now we are wondering on how long they will put it on hold before return sender.

Most APO and FPO Military postmasters will hold the mail at the receiving APO for two to four weeks before returning it to sender (depends on postmaster).  If you are traveling, it is best to notify your local postmaster of your leave schedule to guarantee they will hold it.

The post office will hold his mail until he returns from his "vacation".

I think it's about 10 days. Which sucks. And they will return it. At least mine will.

If he put a hold on his mail, then there are no worries.  They'll hold it till he gets back from leave.

And, they will only RTS if she marked that on the customs form.
