  1. They taste pretty darn close to real noodles. They smell a little fishy when you open the pouch, so soak them in some water for a few minutes, then dump the soaking water and boil them in fresh water.

If you season them or add sauce, you can barely tell the difference in taste, but the texture is a bit chewier.

    Worth a try!

  2. I will confirm what other said: they smell fishy when you open the package... they are very chewy, and slimy. They make a decent replacement for regular pasta if you are worried about calories (they are very low calorie), but beware of the gastric distress (gas!) you may encounter. I'm not sure if others have experienced this, but I always get painful gas when I eat them - I have since stopped.

If you're not worried about calories, stick with regular pasta (try whole wheat, etc.) If you are worried about calories, give them a try but monitor your stomach activity - if you get pain and gas you'll know why.

  3. I think they are revolting.  They have no flavor at all and are chewy and slimy and difficult to eat.  I kept feeling like I was going to choke on them.

Just eat pasta.  It's usually vegan.

  4. they are not noodles to eat like pasta.  they are usually one of the ingredients for sukiyaki, which has meat, vegetables and a soy sauce based broth.  it complements that dish well.
