Shirty Gerty likely to upset Turibius in Dean Samuel 'Standing Down' Stakes at Peterborough
No one can doubt Shirty Gerty’s ability to upset even the best in business. The black b***h has proved her mettle on number of occasions and here is another chance for her to give a shut up call to the critics.
The dashing b***h is due to show her magic in the Grade S1 Dean Samuel 'Standing Down' Stakes, to be held at Peterborough on Wednesday, May 30th. A cash prize of £104 is reserved for winner of the 605 metres flat
race.
Shirty Gerty was not impressive in her last appearance at this venue. Since she had come to Peterborough after a few rides at different venues, she could not adapt to the conditions quickly and as a result, finished fourth in
the list.
However, the punters do not need much of a memory to recall her last thumping performance at Peterborough. At the start of last month, H. Dimmock’s trainee unleashed her talent in a similar contest, stopping the clock in just
38.78 seconds.
It shows how dangerous she can be on her day. All she needs is to demonstrate an equally good show to dethrone her rivals tonight. Among her opponents are: Turibius, News Reporter, Questhouse Blaze and Ullid Babe.
Turibius is heading the market following an excellent effort last time around. Although the white and black dog could not secure the top rank, he did well to cover the distance in 37.89 seconds.
He belongs to David Pruhs’ kennel, thus one cannot raise questions over his preparations. Westmead Hawk’s son certainly needs to perform out of his skin to break the shackles tonight.
News Reporter has been unlucky since winning a similar race at the start of this month. So, the black dog is not recommended for the top prize. Ullid Babe cannot fancy too much given recent poor efforts. Similarly, Questhouse
Blaze is unlikely to do anything special.
Turibius will attract only those interested in playing safe. On the other hand, Shirty Gerty is recommended to the brave punters, who want to play like men. We wish the best of luck to everyone.
