Shivers or something else???

my soon to be 7 month old daughter occasionally "shivers" it looks like..i dont know if its something else or if she gets a chill and shivers but she does it a couple times a day

My baby (10.5 months) will sometimes shudder when he is peeing.  Maybe check her diaper when she does it and see if that is the cause.

I don't know for sure, I think you should call the doctor. I know when I had an infection I shivered because  I was getting chills. My daughter never did that. Could be normal I would call in the morning.

I have 3 kids and one rule I live by- If I'm not sure, I ask the doctor.  My kids never shivered for no reason, but it is a possibility.  Go see a doctor just to make sure.

Well... I'd ask the doctor, but... if I was to go to the doctor about shivers then we would have gone months ago.  My daughter shakes when she's excited (it's a family trait though so I expected it), and she shivers sometimes for no real reason other than her hair maybe touching the back of her neck.  I don't see it as anything frightening or scary.  There's no marks or visible issues.  It's not bothering her or making her cry.  She just sometimes gets the chills.

If she's cold, she has another family trait... she gets spots like I do.  So it's not that she's cold either.  She also is VERY good at telling the entire world if she's at ALL cold... believe me.  We had to have a thermostat controlled heater in our room all winter.  74 degrees or she wouldn't sleep.  72 was pushing it.  71 was too cold.  o_O  So she's not shivering from cold.

If this is brand new, then sure, talk to the doctor, call their on-call nurse and ask.  But honestly, sometimes babies shiver or act like they have a chill.  Maybe a nasty tasting burp, or their tag on their shirt hits the right spot.
