Shivnarine Chanderpaul should carry on playing for West Indies, says Michael Holding – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/S-Chanderpaul-c2390 can still play Test cricket for another two years and also praised the recent form of the left-handed batsman.

West Indian team is currently in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, competing in the Test series, which will be followed by three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and a T20 International.

The visitors have miserably struggled to perform well in the tour and have lost both the Tests so far. However, the seasoned middle-order batsman has been an exception along with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Marlon-Nathaniel-Samuels-c74804, as both of them have carried the burden of the West Indian
batting in the tour.
Chanderpaul has so far played 142 Tests, 268 ODIs and 22 T20s, and has scored more than 19 thousand runs at the highest stage of the game with prolific averages in all three formats.

The 37-year-old is presently the number one ranked Test batsman of the world and most of the sporting pundits are of the opinion that the West Indian batting will deteriorate even further once the left-handed batsman decides to call it a day.
Holding, who is one of the legends of the game, feels that Chanderpaul has been a great servant of Caribbean cricket and even after playing international sport for more than 18 years; the left-hander has not lost the hunger to score runs, which is
quite extra-ordinary. This makes the former fast bowler believe that Chanderpaul has some years left in competitive cricket.

He said, "I think Shivnarine has at least another two years in him. He has not lost his abilities to score runs; he might not be the most attractive batsman in the world but he knows how to get his job done.”
The former cricketer also praised the fitness level of the ageing batsman and is impressed with his professionalism.

"He is very self-centred in a way. He just concentrates on what his job is and that is getting runs. He tries to keep himself fit; earlier on in his career he wasn't a strong young man but he has worked very hard on his fitness," Holding added.
