In a break-through development between Shivnarine Chanderpaul and the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), the batsman is all set to play against Pakistan in the upcoming Test series.
Although the official announcement has not been made in this regard, yet a famous sports website has claimed that Chanderpaul will make it into the Test side against the Men in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Green-c60723.
Chanderpaul and the WICB's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ernest Hilaire, have been sharing a tiff from the past few weeks, over Chanderpaul's performance in the recently ended ICC World Cup 2011.
Chanderpaul is of the view that the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 selection committee wanted him to retire after the end of the mega event and when he refused to take retirement, he was left out from the One Day International Squad.
He was also dismayed at Hilaire's comments that West Indies had lacked discipline and application for 15 years. Chanderpaul thought that his dropping from the side would actually mean he was not disciplined, which was not the case. This was the
reason why Chanderpaul took it to the WICB, seeking an explanation from the Board's CEO.
The other senior players of the West Indies cricket team Chris Gayle and Ramnaresh Sarwan were also dropped from the squad playing for the One Dayers against Pakistan.
The CEO of WICB is of the view that the Windies team needs to improve their performance for the future matches. However, Ramnaresh Sarwan rejoined the squad in the fourth ODI.
The CEO added that the team should create effective strategies for the players so that they can play with complete consistency and momentum.
However, Chanderpaul will be joining the team for the future Test matches.
