Shivnarine Chanderpaul, West Indian middle-order batsman, is determined to play a major role for Caribbean cricket, even after hanging up his boots. The left-handed batsman, on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, became the most capped player for the Caribbean side.
Chanderpaul, after reaching personal milestones, has set for himself two more targets which he hopes to accomplish in the future. The left-hander wishes to pass on the knowledge he has gained in 17-years of cricket and offer West Indian youngsters any kind
of support that they need.

The veteran admitted that he had not dreamt of achieving such success, when he first started his career.
In an emotional interview, the batsman said, "This is a milestone I never dreamt of achieving, certainly not when I started playing Test cricket so it is a great honour to achieve this milestone. I would like to thank all those people who have helped me
along the way to reach this point in my career."
The great West Indian batsman states that his love for the sport is never ending. He is still as eager to play and serve his country now as he was when he first started to play. Chanderpaul stated that it is his zeal which keeps him going even at this age,
conceding that he is nearing the end of his career.
