Shizuka Uchida thrashes Anna Markevich in Women’s Singles first round at Russia Open Grand Prix
Japan’s Shizuka Uchida took an impressive start in Women’s Singles first round as she did not face any trouble in beating Russia’s Anna Markevich in a sensational fashion at Russia Open Grand Prix 2012 on Wednesday, June 27, in Russia.
Shizuka entered into the court with an aggressive approach as she played to her maximum potential and did not take her opponent easy throughout the battle and eventually won it easily with a stunning margin.
The in-form Japanese lady was impressive in her speed and shot selection and she did not spare any chance for Anna to give a good fight. She finished off this Women’s Singles battle in straight games in just 16 minutes.
In the meanwhile, Anna failed to make her fans happy at her home ground as she could not put up a good resistance against her Japanese rival in the entire battle and lost it without showing her brilliance.
Shizuka displayed her aggression and played at her best to maintain pressure on her local opponent who was having trouble in matching the pace of rallies.
The Japanese was in commanding position as she dictated the pace of rallies easily and took a wonderful lead of 11-2 until the break.
After the interval, Anna tried to play attacking badminton but failed to get behind the bird and also conceded many points by committing unforced errors.
In the meanwhile, Shizuka continued her aggressive run without showing any respect to Anna and took the game with a staggering score of 21-4.
In the following set, Anna played slightly better badminton as she matched the speed of rallies in the opening points but failed to stop her rival again from setting up a huge lead of 11-4 until the mid-game interval.
After the break, Shizuka made her local opponent moving around everywhere by putting variations in her shots.
The accuracy of the Japanese shuttler was incredible as she did not commit any mistake in the ending phase and won the second game in a lopsided fashion by a huge margin of 21-8.
Shizuka bagged victory in this Women’s Singles first round encounter in a one-sided manner with a stunning 21-4 and 21-8 score on the board.
