Sho Sasaki and Kazushi Yamada ease into Men’s Singles second round of China Masters Super Series
Japan’s Sho Sasaki and Kazushi Yamada eased into the Men’s Singles second round of the 2011 China Masters Super Series after beating their lower ranked opponents in the first round. Sasaki defeated Malaysia’s Mohamad Arif Abdul Latif, whereas, Yamada tamed
Yi Lu of China.
World Number Nine shuttler, Sasaki, who is also the sixth seed in the draw, delivered a superb performance against the Malaysian and ended the match in straight games of 34 minutes. He showed his superiority in the game by taming Mohamad Arif without facing
much trouble.
Both shuttlers opened the first game in a composed manner as they were playing safe badminton. However, the Malaysian started to play hasty strokes in an attempt to finish the rallies early. He remained successful in hitting the side lines of the court,
and most of the time he threw away many points by hitting the bird out of the court or into the net. Sasaki employed his experience and played positive badminton to win the set with a tight margin against the Malaysian with the score of 21-19 in 18 minutes.
The second set of the match was not that tough as Sasaki controlled and dictated the pace of the rallies and maintained pressure on his opponent throughout the game. The Japanese finished the second game with a 21-12 margin in just 14 minutes. He clinched
the match in two sets with a 21-19 and 21-12 score on the board.
In the other Men’s Singles encounter, Yamada played terrific badminton and defeated the Chinese with a big margin in both sets. In the opening game, Yi Lu played better badminton and remained close in the first-half. However, the Japanese played on a different
level and won the game with a 21-17 margin in 25 minutes.
World Number 28 ranked player, Yamada was dominating in the court in the second game as he put up a fabulous show of high-class badminton against the local shuttler and won the set by a stunning margin of 21-8 in just 14 minutes. The 39-minute match finished
in the favour of Yamada with the result of 21-17 and 21-8.
