To reach and survive in the top-10 bracket by a Japanese shuttler is something impressive when the shuttlers from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea and Denmark are out there in every competition to get maximum possible higher ranking in the Men’s Singles
category. Japan’s Sho Sasaki is one of the best shuttlers in the world of badminton who has the skill to beat all top shuttlers on a given day.
Sasaki, who has got an elevated position in the Men’s Singles world standing by reaching at number six, has been impressive throughout the current year. He has improved a lot for the last couple of years and has achieved a higher level in the arena of elite
shuttlers. In the current year, he has been playing remarkable badminton and has defeated many top shuttlers on numerous occasions.
The 29-year-old Sasaki opened his journey from the 2011 Malaysia Open Super Series, and finished in the round-of-32. In the following event of Korea Open Premier Super Series, the Japanese shuttler again finished at the same stage. However, in the following
event of Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold, Sasaki delivered super performance and reached in the quarter-final of the tournament.
The impressive Japanese was in wonderful form in the following event of the Australian Open Grand Prix Gold where he defeated all top shuttlers and won the Men’s Singles crown, which was his first title of the year.  In the 2011 India Open Super Series,
the aggressive Japanese reached in the pre-quarter-final stage. Sasaki once again delivered superb performance in the Malaysia Open Grand Prix Gold, where he finished in the top four.
He delivered stunning performance in the Sudirman Cup and won his Men’s Singles fight. He reached at the top-16 stage in the following tournament of Singapore Open Super Series. In the Indonesia Open Premier Super Series, the Japanese defeated the ruling
Olympic Champion, Lin Dan of China and reached in the semi-final of the tournament, which was his first finish in the top four positions in any Premier Super Series event.
Sasaki grabbed his second individual title of the year when clinched the Men’s Singles crown at the US Open Grand Prix Gold. He continued his remarkable run in the 2011 World Championships when he reached in the quarter-final of the mega event. In the following
championship of Vietnam Open Grand Prix Gold, Sasaki reached in the final but could not finish it as a winner. In the next tournament of China Masters Super Series, the Japanese reached at the top-8 stage.
In the home event of Japan Open Super Series, the Japanese could not perform well as he lost at the top-32 stage. However, he made a tremendous comeback in the following tournament of Denmark Open Premier Super Series, where he reached at the semi-final
stage. In the next event of Hong Kong Open Super Series, Sasaki finished at the round-of-32. In the last tournament of China Open Premier Super Series, the intrepid Japanese finished at in the quarter-final of the tournament.
Sasaki started the current year from 29th ranking and by delivering phenomenal performances; he has grabbed the 6th place at present. Sasaki has proved his mettle as surviving in the top-10 positions is quite challenging especially
when top shuttlers from leading badminton nations are there to compete in all international meetings.
