Sho Sasaki gets better of Rajiv Ouseph in Men’s Singles first round at Hong Kong Open 2012
Japan’s Sho Sasaki found a good rhythm as he played with impressive speed and precision and managed to overpower England’s Rajiv Ouseph in Men’s Singles first round of Yonex Sunrise Hong Kong Open 2012 on Wednesday, November 21, in Hong Kong.
The higher ranked Sasaki, who is currently World Number Nine and fifth seed in Men’s Singles main draw of the championship, played with remarkable precision and managed to oust Ouseph easily in just 35 minutes.
Left-handed Japanese shuttle was on a different level as he played with tremendous precision on court and remained successful in winning his first match of the tournament in a dominating manner with a huge margin on the score board.
In the meanwhile, the lower ranked Ouseph could not cope up with the aggression and speed of his Japanese rival as he could not stay focused in the arena. He lost this match in a lopsided fashion without showing any extraordinary performance.
In the first set, the impressive Sasaki delivered a staggering feat on court as he played shots with commanding control from opening points.
The higher ranked Sasaki proved that he has got top class skills on court and ultimately successful in getting a strong position on court.
Mustering it further, Japanese shuttler did not show any confusion in his planned play and stayed in complete control rallies until the end of first half.
After the mid-game break, the confused Ouseph failed to get stronger as he lost his focus on court and could not avoid making unforced errors.
In the meanwhile, Sasaki did not reduce the pace of rallies at any stage and easily grabbed the opening game with a staggering 21-13 margin on the board.
In the second game, Sasaki played with stunning speed without sparing any opportunity for Ouseph to get a good rhythm.
Ouseph could not show strong performance in the second set as his challenger played positive badminton and grabbed the game with a comfortable margin of 21-16.
Sasaki started his campaign in Hong Kong Open in a confident way by winning the first round battle with a superb 21-13 and 21-16 score on the board.
