Sho Zeniya, the young and passionate shuttler from Japan, put up a staggering show in front of his home fans and overpowered Agusriadi Wijaya Amphie of USA in Men’s Singles qualifying round at the Yonex Japan Open 2012 on Tuesday, September 18, at Tokyo,
Japan.
The incredible Zeniya, who has been showing his brilliance for the last few months, put up wonderful show in his first contest in the tournament and gave a severe lesson to Agusriadi in a crushing fashion.
Zeniya was in his prime form on court as he smoothly moved in all corners of the court with an impressive speed and easily stamped his mark over his USA rival in straight games with a one-sided margin in just 24 minutes.
On the contrary, Agusriadi could not put up strong show as he was unable to return the powerful shots of his Japanese opponent and lost this qualifying round contest in straight sets without creating a strong impact on local crowd.
Starting rallies of opening game pulled the attention of crowd as both shuttlers showed their attacking skills on court and progressed equally until the score reached at 5-5.
At this stage, Zeniya cheered his home fans by playing flawless badminton as he showed aggression and took six points in a row to set up an 11-5 lead until the end of opening half.
After the break, the young Japanese player stretched his lead by playing at his best and remained successful in wrapping up the set in a dictating fashion with a one-sided 21-11 score on the board.
The second game was identical as both shuttlers played good badminton in opening rallies but Zeniya remained successful in taking a wonderful lead 11-5 until the one-minute interval.
After the break, Zeniya continued his marvellous performance on court without sparing any opportunity for his rival to reduce the deficit at any stage.
Zeniya was focused in the concluding half of second game and he easily bagged the set with a dominating 21-11 score on the board.
The Japanese shuttler easily thrashed Agusriadi in straight sets with a lopsided difference of 21-11 and 21-11.
