"Sami is a mentally weak athlete and he can't take pressure,” said Akhtar.
The former pacer revealed that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) invested a lot in Sami to make him the Karachi Express, but he failed to rise to the occasion every time when responsibility was put on his shoulders.
According to Akhtar, when Sami was bowling alongside him, the young pacer always tried to bowl fast, losing his line and length, turning out to be extremely expensive.

He has the ability and I wish he does well now but for this he has to be assigned a role in the team and pressure must be put on him to perform as a frontline strike bowler.”
