Shoaib Akhtar caught on camera for ball tampering
In what could be termed the last game of the tournament between the two sides who enjoy a considerably estranged relationship, mainly due to the plethora of controversies that have emerged during the tour, Shoaib Akhtar is now alleged to have been involved
in ball tampering in the last ODI match of the NatWest series at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rose-c86842 Bowl. Some four years ago Shoaib Akhtar had come under the limelight for ball tampering in England when he was caught on the camera flicking at the ball with his thumb.
It is important to note however that in that particular incident Shoaib Akhtar was cleared of any misdoings, however a warning was issued to him for his conduct. Soon after, in the following year Akhtar was banned for two ODIs and fined 75 percent of his
match fee after he was found guilty of ball tampering against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.
The Pakistan fast bowler known for his reverse swing delivered at great pace, was pictured by an English daily standing on the ball with his spikes and scratching the seam with his nail during the 41st over of the England innings. According to
the report published in the English daily, it is stated that the England players had already suspected the Pakistan bowlers of ball tampering in the third ODI, however their suspicions were not aimed at Shoaib but targeted at another bowler who is believed
to be the match winning Umar Gul who bagged his career best 6 wickets.
However despite allegations, the match referee Jeff Crowe had not notified the ICC of any wrong doings and it is likely that the ECB would be too willing to get themselves involved in another controversy especially at the end of not the series. Interestingly
however, many Pakistan bowlers have in the past been accused of ball tampering especially in England and this pattern is usually noted when the bowlers are reverse swinging the ball during the latter part of the innings with the old ball.
In 1992, Pakistan was accused of ball tampering to achieve large amounts of reverse swing however no such evidence was found in the series. Imran Khan went on to sue Ian Botham in 1996 for slander and libel in a British court and was awarded 400,000 pounds
by the England court.

Nonetheless this seems to be the final nail in the coffin for the strained relationship between England and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 cricket.
